Now that you have set up your Google Scholar profile, it’s
time for Task 3: Create your scholarly ID.
This guide will walk you through creating an ORCID account, which will
provide a unique number to associate with your scholarship; this will help you
distinguish yourself from other scholars with the same name. It will also help
you tie all of your scholarship to one number if you have different names
associated with your scholarship (for example, if you changed your name or if
you used your middle name in one article and not another). Then, if you want to
kick it up a notch, set up your Researcher ID as well.
