Research—in 3-D!

The students in Dr. Annette Debo’s English 602 class, African American Literature, have brilliantly presented their research in the form of an exhibit, and more specifically posters, organic dioramas, photographs, drumsticks, spectacles, quotations, and quilts! From now until April 30, Hunter Library has these on display. Each exhibit illustrates the graduate students’ interpretive frameworks of the following authors: Amiri Baraka, Gwendolyn Brooks, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Gloria Naylor, Sonia Sanchez, Nathasha Trethewey, Frank X. Walker, and Richard Wright.

Visit the exhibit on the library’s main floor, in the hallway to the Writing Center, Faculty Center, and Java City cafĂ©. Don’t missthe personal statements, where the students explain their connection to one of the authors.

This exhibit was created in conjunction with Dr. Annette Debo’s Hunter Scholar Project, Furious Flowers All: Violence and African American Women's Poetry. Check out the blog
