Research—in 3-D!

The students in Dr. Annette Debo’s English 602 class, African American Literature, have brilliantly presented their research in the form of an exhibit, and more specifically posters, organic dioramas, photographs, drumsticks, spectacles, quotations, and quilts! From now until April 30, Hunter Library has these on display. Each exhibit illustrates the graduate students’ interpretive frameworks of the following authors: Amiri Baraka, Gwendolyn Brooks, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Gloria Naylor, Sonia Sanchez, Nathasha Trethewey, Frank X. Walker, and Richard Wright.

Visit the exhibit on the library’s main floor, in the hallway to the Writing Center, Faculty Center, and Java City café. Don’t missthe personal statements, where the students explain their connection to one of the authors.

This exhibit was created in conjunction with Dr. Annette Debo’s Hunter Scholar Project, Furious Flowers All: Violence and African American Women's Poetry. Check out the blog

The library has a small selection of federal tax forms and workbooks in print format (1040, 1040A and 1040EZ); these are available to the general public. You can find them near the Reference Desk on the library's main floor. North Carolina forms are only available online.

Laptop Checkout Now on Library Ground Floor

Beginning this semester, the lending laptops will be checked out from the Technology Commons on the ground floor of Hunter Library. At this time all other electronic and A/V equipment is being evaluated for serviceability and demand and will not be available for checkout. After a decision is made, any of these items that are to be circulated will be available for checkout at the Technology Commons on the ground floor.
